Child and Adult Developmental and Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Orfirer is an experienced psychologist and psychotherapist with expertise in lifespan development and challenges. She has authored articles, provided training and consultation and engaged in program development with a focus on attachment (theory, research and applications) as well as complex multisystem collaboration. She has worked closely with child welfare, dependency and family law courts, as well as international and domestic adoption.
She has a specialization in Infant Parent Psychotherapy, a certification in Synergetic Play Therapy; is rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy, has earned an advanced certificate in perinatal mood disorders and has a wealth of training and experience in non directive, interpersonal neurobiology-informed, and psychodynamic play therapies, as well as, Sandtray and Filial Therapy. She has extensive experience with adults throughout the lifespan.
Dr. Orfirer has co-developed clinical training programs for master's, doctoral and postdoctoral students. She is committed to antiracist learning and approaches to psychotherapy and is part of the LGBTQIA/queer community.
